While traveling through The Badger State yesterday, I stopped for lunch at a Moe’s Diner, somewhere off of I–94. I’d never been in one before and was glad for an alternative to a #1 Extra Value Menu. This diner had a typical faux–50s look to it: black and white checkered tile floor, counter with swivel stools, lots of stainless steel, etc.
I ordered a simple BBQ pork sandwich which came with mashed potatoes and beef gravy, and the most delicious creamed corn I’ve ever tasted. About the latter: this was not the typical creamed corn that one’s Aunt Millie always makes for the annual family reunion picnic, an off–yellow slurry with mashed up bits of corn kernels floating in it. Moe’s creamed corn had intact kernels and a white, slightly sweet cream mixed in. Does anyone know how Moe’s makes its creamed corn? I can’t find a web site for the chain, which suggests, on the front of the menu, that any dissatisfied diners contact their main office. Or does anyone know of Moe’s corporate telephone number?
